The St Vincent de Paul society won the society of the year award at the Central Societies Committee (CSC) annual society of the year awards ball.

Many other societies did well on the night.

• Best Event – Dragons’ Den (Entrepreneurial)
• Best Fresher – Cian McCarthy (Singers)
• Best Individual – Ross Dungan (Players)
• Best Website – Japanese Society
• Best Poster – Hist “The Media plays a Negative Role in Discourse”
• Best Publication – The Attic (Literary Society)
• Best Overall Society – St Vincent de Paul

The Ball was held in the Hilton, Charlemount on March 11.
