The University Times is Ireland's largest student newspaper. It has consistently won Irish Student Publication of the Year and in 2017 was awarded best all-around non-daily student newspaper in the world by the US-based Society of Professional Journalists. In everything we do, we strive to hold College and Trinity College Dublin Students' Union to account.

The University Times is currently hiring journalists for the following positions in its literature section:

  • Literature Editor
  • Deputy Literature Editor

All candidates for these positions are expected to have advanced writing abilities and a strong interest in literature, as well as an understanding of the local literary scene in Dublin.

The literature section of The University Times covers Dublin's literature, writing and poetry events in Radius. Some non-local content will feature in the paper's magazine (online and in print).

Candidates should work very well in a team, and should expect collaboration with a wide variety of journalists, whether they are writers, photographers, illustrators or editors.

Candidates should understand that The University Times is an online-first newspaper. Our readership online, often reaching more than 150,000 people each month, has now by an order of magnitude overtaken our readership in print. As such, candidates for the positions in this section should expect to be responsible for weekly content schedules, reviews, event guides, requiring significant time commitments.
